Our propulsion services team recently completed a full removal and reinstallation of a bow thruster whilst vessel remain in afloat conditions!
The job began with the safe removal of the damaged thruster unit and the installation of a blind flange, allowing the vessel to continue operations while the unit underwent overhaul.
Once the thruster was restored to βas newβ condition, our team returned to the vessel for another intervention:
- Reinstall the unit and ensure precise alignment.
- Mount the blades and connect the electric motor.
- Couple the electric motor to the thruster.
- Complete oil filling, leak checks, and pitching trials.
After all operational tests were successfully passed, the vessel was fully operational again.
